Call of Duty: Black Ops

Treyarch has recently released news of a new entry in the Call of Duty saga. Black Ops looks to be a mix-match of special ops encounters spanning a few different time frames. Vietnam seems to be the bulk of the campaign, but there are definitely some Soviet encounters as well.

What's There to Do in Guild Wars?

As we anxiously await the release of Guild Wars 2 (release Q4 2010), you may find yourself asking, "What can I do to pass the time in Guild Wars?". Well I have a few suggestions.

Nicholas the Traveller
Nicholas is an npc that is relocated every Monday. He collects any number of randomized items in exchange for Gifts of the Traveler. These gifts can be quite useful (and profitable unopened). The items and his location span all campaigns, so even if you only have 1 or a few of the campaigns, you will still be able to acquire his gifts some of the time. Here's a few links for you.

Title Hunting
Title hunting is certainly not for everyone, but if you just need to rub out that Guild Wars itch every now and then, titles are tasks that should suffice. Some of them require money, but many of them do not (see next suggestion). On the upside, it has been hinted that some titles will carry certain benefits in Guild Wars 2.

Hard Mode
Another way to entertain yourself in this post-peak Guild Wars environment is to take on tasks in hard mode. While providing a little extra challenge, they also can be quite rewarding. Hard mode missions and vanquishing all count towards titles, and they pay out a fair amount. I should also add that with only a few exceptions these missions and vanquishing can be conquered with only henchmen and heroes. Some are actually very challenging. Here are a few links.

Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package

Ladies and gents, it's finally here. You can now get your hands on the "Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package". This DLC pack contains five new maps for your enjoyment. Infinity ward describes them for us:

The Stimulus Package delivers 5 additional action-packed multiplayer maps featuring a variety of locations: "Bailout," a multi-level apartment complex; "Storm," an open industrial park littered with heavy machinery; "Salvage," a snowy junkyard fortified by stacked debris and crushed cars. Two legendary fan favorites from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare return, including "Crash," a war-torn urban environment; and "Overgrown," which features a massive dry creek bed.
